Flo Art Fund commissions, produces, and presents ambitious and innovative art projects. The Fund’s mission is two-fold: to support artists creating challenging work and to advance the visual arts as an important force in contemporary culture. It partners with established and emerging artists and presents their work in Russia
and internationally, making it available to a broad and diverse public and creating opportunities for intercultural dialogue and learning. Through its initiatives the Fund encourages freedom of artistic experimentation and creative expression.
Since its founding in 2006, Flo Art Fund has staged a series of unique projects.
In 2006, it facilitated Mikhail Baryshnikov’s gift of watercolors by Maximilian Voloshin
to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow and organized their exhibition.
In 2007, the Fund mounted an exhibition of international work in an extraordinary venue – the Federation Tower, still under construction at the time – as part of the 2nd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art. That same year, the Fund presented Yoko Ono’s large-scale installation, “Odyssey of a Cockroach”, to Russian audiences.
